FOODDD, Food Design Days, is a programme created by Espaces Contemporains magazine to explore the links between design, architecture and gastronomy. For the Pecha Kucha day at the Teo Jakob showroom in Geneva, I designed the culinary staging. The V-Zug chefs brought the taste dimension. They rooted the day in that sensory territory where cooking meets design.
I worked with the showroom's existing vocabulary: its furniture and its objects. The idea was to turn this commercial space into a place for meeting and exchange. Rather than covering up Teo Jakob's permanent collection, I added a new spatial layer, with mirror surfaces thermoformed to measure for Teo Jakob. It brings the audience, the speakers and the food together in one shared atmosphere. The showroom becomes a theatre of ideas, where design is both the subject on stage and the setting that hosts it.
