Who I Am

I'm Karen Pisoni, a scenographer, designer and interior architect. I studied interaction design at ECAL, then interior architecture at HEAD – Genève. Both schools gave me an artistic eye and an interior architect's rigour. Scenography lets me bring together my artistic practice and my passion for space and the living world. It is also a field where you can take risks! I founded Pisoni–lab in 2023 in Lausanne, with the support of Pulse Incubateur HES. For me, an event can be beautiful, memorable and kind to the planet.

I also share my approach in talks, such as at the House of Switzerland during Milano Design Week 2025. My work has been featured in Espaces Contemporains and Maisons et Ambiances.

You have a single point of contact, from the first idea to the take-down, for an event that feels like you and helps you stand out.

A sustainable approach

For your exhibitions, dinners or corporate events, I borrow or rent materials and objects from the dormant stock of my network: designers, artists, shops and local businesses. They come to life in your scenography, then return to their owners. Alongside this, I design and create one-of-a-kind pieces for your event. They give your scenography its own character. Afterwards, they continue their story with your clients or in the Pisoni–lab collection, available online.

Network and reuse

Behind every scenography is a network of artists, makers, suppliers and local shops. We share the same values: creativity, craftsmanship and sustainability. Thanks to this network, even very varied needs find an answer close to home. Your event can also host works by artists from the region. It gains one more story to tell, and the artists gain visibility.

In five steps

For your event, I guide you from start to finish:

Listening: we talk about your wishes, goals and constraints.
Design: I design a unique scenography, with plans, atmosphere and sustainable solutions.
Realisation: I bring the bespoke elements to life, favouring reuse.
Set-up and take-down: I install everything on site with my partners, then leave the space as I found it.
Second life: the objects created for you continue their story, with your clients or in the Pisoni–lab collection, available online.
